The Son Of Neptune Author: Rick Riordan

The book The Son Of Neptune is about Percy Jackson’s experience with the Roman’s Camp Jupiter. It starts with Percy running away from two gorgons who when he kills them just re-make themselves. Percy is invincible due to the Achilles Curse he picked up before Hera abducted him and sent him on a course towards Camp Jupiter. While on the way he picks up the goddess in disguise and takes her to safety within Camp Jupiter’s border’s.
When Percy is at the entrance to the camp he has the gorgons flying after him, but with a little help from Frank Zhang and Hazel Levesque he makes it into the camp safely. When he gets across the river (Little Tiber) Frank is on his way across when the gorgons get him by the arms and start taking him away. Then Percy uses his powers and saves him by using the water to crush both gorgons.
Percy gets a probatio tablet sort of marking him as a grunt. After he gets that he gets picked to go to Alaska, the land beyond the gods, on a quest. In an effort to try saving Camp Jupiter, from an unbeatable monster army led by the giant Bolybotes. The reason they’re unbeatable is because the god of death Thantos is chained and can’t keep the dead monster’s soul in the underworld. That in turn makes them immortal per say.

Maximum Ride Series Author: James Patterson

Looking for a good read? Try the Maximum Ride Series. A series made up of a complex eight books, James Patterson constructed a jewel. These books are fast paced, and if you’re looking for action and bit of a love triangle, be sure to check them out!
The series starts of with Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, and continues with School’s Out Forever, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports, The Final Warning, Max, Fang, Angel, and Nevermore. May I add, our library has all of the books stacked up on their shelves!
The books are set during a futuristic era, a world where mutants and enhanced children roam the world and evil scientists think only of themselves. Maximum Ride, the main character, is the strongest of them all. Scientists created her only for their good, but they made a terrible mistake. They made Maximum too strong, her mind too fantastic—and she knows so much, she knows right from wrong. She knows what the scientists are doing is wrong, so she, and her closest friends, will do whatever they can to stop them. It’s not an easy task, and not everything goes according to plan.
I really enjoyed this series. For me, though, I didn’t really get into it until the fourth or fifth book because it was so fast paced and I wasn’t really used to that. James Patterson, the author, is known for writing his books in such a fast paced way, and I know a lot of people who enjoy reading books who don’t drag it out too long; it’s all about preference, people! James Patterson’s characters gave this book meaning and value—they were relatable and not indestructible. They each had their own flaws, likes and dislikes, and although they had 2% of avian gene in them, they still were human.
After reading this series, it’ll have you thinking about it for days come. Give it a try, really, take some time out of your day to start this series! Don’t be lazy, read it to your dog, your cat, your hamster! I’m sure Grandma would enjoy the story and would love to hear your lovely voice! And remember: Maximum Ride for the win!

: Eon Author: Alison Goodman

If you’re looking for a series to get into, prepare to be amazed! Eon is the first book in a two book series. Eona being the second. This book is set in imperial China where the population relies on Dragoneyes to make sure that there are no typhoons to ruin their crops, to make sure that the their spirit are satisfied lest destruction comes over the land.
The story begins with Eona, and to-be Dragoneye apprentice, disguising herself as a boy to escape the life of peasantry. Under the name Eon, she trains diligently to be chosen as an apprentice despite her leg disability. As the days to the choosing get closer, Eona’s nerves get higher as she realizes what might happen if she is not chosen or her true identity is discovered.
Eon is a larger book with 531 pages of awesomeness, and worth every page. Eon is unlike any book that I’ve read and will open your eyes to the reading world.

Linger By Maggie Stiefvater

Sam is a human, Grace is getting sick. When Beck brings new wolves to the pack, things start to change. Cole St. Clair is one of the new wolves; he used to be the leader of a popular band. His past is full of hurt and drugs. Isabel starts to like him, but he doesn’t want to hurt her like the other girls he has been with. Sam and Grace are trying to figure out what is going to happen with them and their future.
This is the sequel to the book Shiver. I think this is a very good book to read if like romance and a little bit of action and suspense. It is kind of like the Twilight series, but way better.

Monument 14 SKY ON FIRE by Emmy Laybourne

In the first book the disasters first appear and Dean, Alex, Shannon, and Jake try to survive even with all the horrors they have to face. Now they have escaped the mall they try to the airport while Alex is trying to save Dean who is still in the mall while people are trying to break in. I like how it is in first person view and how it switches from Dean to Alex. It’s cool how it’s not set in the past or the future. I like Dean because he can be like me at times, smart, scrawny, and easily distracted by everything. But before you even look at this one READ THE FIRST BOOK!, Moument 14.
