HOUSE OF HADES by Rick Riordan

I find Greek mythology very interesting to me because it’s so spread out because instead of one person managing everything there is twelve ‘major’ gods, and countless others some even say hundreds, some say thousands we may never know. In this book the most influential god surprisingly is the god of the pit Tartarus himself. Mostly due in part to the fact he tries to kill Percy and Annabeth.
The reason he tries to kill them is because when they retrieve the statue (spoiler from the last book) the floor gives out and spills them into Tartarus. The deepest and the darkest pit in the underworld where the immortals the gods don’t like and the monsters, are sent when they die. Although the monsters get reborn they are not able to escape. It’s sort of like a Fort Knox for the gods denying anybody who attempts to get out.
Coach Hedge the satyr assigned to the quest, and his wife (spoiler) Mellie the wind nymph, are having a baby and she is at Camp Half-blood which is about to be attacked by the Romans and possibly getting her killed. While he is halfway across the world and unable to help what will he do? While I love reading science books I found this very interesting because of the different perspectives.
